September’s Best Sellers

So many mixed emotions for those of us in south central Alaska this month. We saw snow and we saw a lot of it. I know snow in Alaska isn’t a shocker, but the fact that it came so early and that it stuck, took so many of us by surprise. The Anchorage School District even closed school one day at the end of the month because we just weren’t ready. In the winter months, school busses have chains around the tires, Alaskans switch out their vehicle’s tires to studded tires, trucks throughout the area are out and about putting salt and gravel to help aid with the slickness. But none of that was prepared, ready or done the day the snow dumped this month.

Snow was not the only thing this month should be remembered by. I settled into my new job as a middle school choir director, went to the Alaska State Fair and a fall festival with my kids, attended and presented at a Landmark Collective event, and had an amazing girls weekend in Girdwood. Despite the snow, September was a solid month full of plenty of great memories. Here’s to hoping for less snow but just as much fun in October!

XO, Lesli
