Hike - Flattop Sunny Side Trail

Length: 3.5 mi

Elevation Gain: 1,617 ft.

Route Type: Out and Back

There are a few ways that you can access Flattop Trail, but the Sunnyside Trail is handsdown my favorite. There are port-o-potties at the base of the trail and plenty of switch backs to get you up (both pros in my opinion), but it’s a killer, even though All Trails labels it as “moderate,” and parking suuuuuucks. So know that you have been warned. However, when the clouds have cleared, the views of the city of Anchorage are epic.
