A couple years ago, some friends of ours purchased this lodge and have worked tirelessly to transform it to the retreat it is today. We frequent the Bear Creek Lodge and their on site restaurant, the Dirty Skillet. My kids love going to Hope, knowing that we’ll stay here and that they’ll eat good, play hard and sleep soundly (okay, I love knowing that they’ll sleep soundly). While the first thing the hubs and I want to do when we arrive is grab a pint at The Dirty Skillet, my kids want to play on the glacier-fed pond. P.S. They provide life jackets.

I even got in on the action on our last trip in May of 2021. I was so scared try it because even though the water is not deep, it sure is cold. And, yes, I am aware that I look like a granny getting on and up but I did it and I didn’t fall in!

When I say that we frequent the Bear Creek Lodge, I mean it. Though it’s not open year-round, they are open on certain weekends in the winter season and you can still have fun on the frozen pond, whether you’re active or not.

While we’ve been enough, we haven’t stayed at every cabin at the lodge. We’ve found our favorite when we go with the kids: Bowman’s Cabin. It sleeps eight, has two separate sleeping rooms, a mini fridge, a fire place, a large deck and I love that it’s right next to the creek and I get to fall asleep and wake up to its’ sounds.

Brant and I spent our 14th anniversary last year (sans kids) at Bear Creek Lodge and treated ourselves to a stay in The Cottage, a 500+ square foot cabin complete with a full kitchen and full bath. It was the perfect getaway and location to celebrate each other.

Not all cabins come equipped with a full bath, but for those that aren’t there is a well maintained and clean bathhouse on the middle of the property. You’ll also find a sauna, grills and a cute spot for s’mores or starting a camp fire. I forgot to mention- each cabin comes with a s’mores kit when you arrive so that you can take full advantage of the cute IG worthy spot at the lodge. Heck, the entire lodge is IG worthy!

Jeannine, the owner, is beautiful inside and out. She and her staff will make sure you’re well taken care of.

If you’re looking for a night away from the hustle and bustle of life, I cannot recommend this cute spot enough. And if you do get a chance to visit the Bear Creek Lodge, be sure to let Jeannine know that you followed my advice and booked a stay there. I’m signing off with some more pics that Brant took of the property. He’s a pretty amazing photographer. Happy glamping, friends!
