Hike - Byron Glacier

Length: 3.2 mi

Elevation Gain: 777 ft.

Route Type: Out and Back

My family loves hiking Byron Glacier! We’ve done it all throughout the summer, from May to September, and each time it’s a different experience. Here is what it looked like in May of 2021.

So. Much. Snow. But… so much fun! The trail initially looked clear at the start but as we spent more time on it, we were met with more and more snow. It is such an amazing experience to be surrounded by so much snow but feel warm, hot, even, when the sun beats down.

A few years ago, when my kids were younger, we took them and my parents (over 60) to hike it in June. We packed a lunch and ate out by the water. This hike is really doable for all ages.

Outfit deets: Tank // Shorts // Hiking Boots

And in July of last year, some friends and I took our kids with sleds (yes I said sleds!), to sled down the glacier. I posted the fun here on my Instagram account.

Below are pics we took in September of last summer. It’s crazy to see how much it changes throughout season. Regardless of when you go, make sure to take lots of pictures and have fun!
